A woman in a wedding dress standing alone at the top of stairs at a church. Her head is down and her body language says she is disappointed and sad. This signifies the unmet expectations we can experience during separation on the Twin Flame journey.

The Concept

For so many of us, we fell in love with someone in a way we’ve never experienced before. Because this connection was so profound and it was hard to make sense of it — we began to search high and low to figure out what it was that we were actually going through.

Sooner or later we came across the Twin Flame concept. In that moment — when the discovery was made that we were once one soul with our Twin Flame and we have now have split into two separate and complete souls — whether it was conscious or not — our mind started to formulate expectations of what this meant in our life.

That’s what our mind and ego does. It tries to understand and make sense of new information and then integrate that information. We tend to form an expectation based on the information we’re given and make a plan.

When I first learned about Twin Flames — I was incredibly relieved that there was an explanation to what I was experiencing — an explanation and knowing that also felt true and resonant deep in my soul and heart.
