Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them — that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. ~Lao Tzu

The feelings for our Twin Flame can be intense and unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Not being with them can cause great pain and longing. I know for me this was the case. I felt that if I could just detach from these feelings— I’d find relief.

The concept of Twin Flames is that they are our Divine counterpart — the other half of our soul before we split in two. If this is true, then technically we’re more spiritually connected to them than anyone else on the planet. If we’re already in spiritual union — then detaching from our feelings for them would be impossible.

If we can’t detach — then how can we find peace when we’re in physical separation from our Twin Flame?

The secret I’ve found lies in the philosophy of the Tao Te Ching. This ancient practice has been around since about 500 BCE and has been attributed to the teachings of Lao Tzu. The Tao is a way of living that brings harmony and peace by “wuwei” (non-action) and non-attachment. It’s known as the way of the Universe. “It implies spontaneity, noninterference, letting things take their natural course: ‘Do nothing and everything is done.’”
